And its already May. Winter! Its getting cooler by the day. Just missed a call from Nan she won a car and a plasma TV, Wow. Just waiting for her to get back home! WOW. Well done Nan you deserve the best! Just tell us what you did, we won’t tell anyone :) I am still getting used to me when I look in the mirror. But hey I am not complainin’! And the other bit chumki likes it too did you notice her posing at the camera!

Since 15th March I have been using Google AdSense. Initially I had the ad appearing on the sidebar of my index page(start page). I sure got it working and put it on my blog and didn’t even think about it twice. I have known such schemes before and clickable banners etc… and some of you may even remember the ‘old purplish monkey with the green $$ falling of a tree and all those silly banner programs. I admit I thought of Google AdSense in pretty much the same way.

It wasn’t until I got a mail from Google yesterday about their Google AdSense updates that I looked closely into the process. I logged in (had actually forgotten my password too) and looked into my payment records and Gee Whiz! I had $9.66 sitting in there in terms of clicks since 15.03.2004. Wow! Impressive. I decided to better implement Google AdSense.

1. User focus (you know most people will read around this area)
2. Content (proximity to content written)
3. Legible colours (just because you’ve the rainbow doesn’t mean use ‘em all)

I figured that the one place this would be good is between the blog entry and the comments form of the Individual entry pages. The reason being: it would then be able to deliver contextual ads(in relation to the contents of my blog entry), and readers would feel like having a quick browse of the relevant advertisements. Go on implement yours, spread the word around, and click a few of my links :) CLICK CLICK!

Royal Flat e Serviços - aluguel de temporada e vendas

After having stayed in a few weekends we decided to go for a somewhat longish spin down to Canberra Cooma. Last weekend was a long weekend due to Anzac Day — a day to commemorate all the brave soldiers that laid their lives for Australia in Gallipolli. We took off to Canberra from Sydney and drove down along the M5 Motorway. Our first exit was the quaint little town of Berrima. Fascinating! We have been there about a couple of times but was mum and dad’s first. They loved it. It is a small historic town and has so much character it almost makes you feel like moving there for good. The flora and faun, the autumn leaves, the soft gentle autumn breeze.. Well actually it was cold. :) We had gourmet pies for lunch and then headed back onto the M5 towards Canberra.

Parliament Circle entrance

Yet another charming place, the Australian Capital territory. We drove around a bit, driving along the worlds biggest round about and then onto Cooma. It was only about 4:30pm in the afternoon yet very cloudy but towards our journey to Cooma they seem to clear up gradually. Driving through the meandering roads through those majestic blue distant hills and the sun filtering through the dark clouds was truly a breathtaking experience. I wish I had taken photos but I was driving and all my gear was packed up in the boot of the car! Hopefully there will be a next time. Continue reading "Sydney to Cooma and back"
